This post will focus on checking the iqLED-Alpha-A1-RF controller after factory assembly.
Before using the controller, carefully inspect the product for defects, chips, "sticky", etc. All components should sit clearly in their places without displacement, as in the photo below.
Flashing test firmware
1.0 - Using a Soldering Irons and solder, set the BOOT jumper as shown in the figure below:
1.1 - Controller power connection diagram is shown below. Use a laboratory power supply, voltage +3.7V, with a current limit of 100 mA.
1.2 - Flash the firmware - iqLED-Alpha-A1-USB-MSC-TEST.dfu via the DFU interface, for this:
Download DfuSev3.0.6 utility
https://iqled.org/soft/DfuSev3.0.6.rar 9.50 MB
1.3 - Run the DfuSeDemo.exe utility
1.4 - Apply external power +3.7V,
1.5 - Connect the iqLED-Alpha-A1-RF controller to PC using USB Type-C cable.
1.6 - The DfuSeDemo utility displays STM Device in DFU Mode in the Available DFU Devices window, see the photo below:
1.7 - If the device is not detected, check the USB cable (there must be a full-fledged USB Type-C, power lines for charging + signal USB), check for the controller STM Device in DFU Mode in the device manager:
1.8 - As a rule, in OS W10 and higher, drivers are installed automatically, for younger OS, a set of drivers is found in the downloaded archive DfuSev3.0.6.
1.9 - Using the Choose button, select the iqLED-Alpha-A1-USB-MSC-TEST.dfu firmware file.
Download iqLED-Alpha-A1-USB-MSC-TEST.dfu
https://iqled.org/firmware/iqLED-Alpha ... C-TEST.rar 12kB
1.10 - After successfully reading this file ("File correctly loaded"), we write this file to the controller with the Upgrade button.
1.11 - Next is a warning:
You device was plugged in DFU mode. Your device was connected in DFU mode. Therefore, it is not possible to verify that this file is suitable for this device.
agree, yes.
1.12 - Successfully flash test firmware!!!
1.13 - Be sure to check the correctness of loading flash memory, use the Verify button.
1.16 - Waiting for the answer "Verify successful!", otherwise we repeat all the steps again and in case of failure we change the USB cable.
1.17 - After successfully flash firmware:
- turn off the external power supply;
- disconnect USB;
- disconnect the BOOT jumper use a soldering iron.
1.18 Full video regarding flasing test firmware:
1.19 - Connect external power, check the status of the system indicator.
The video below demonstrates test mode:
1.20 - To check, you need to use a couple of controllers iqLED-Alpha-A1-RF. Check the UP and DOWN buttons. Watch the reaction of the green and red LED.
1.21 - Since a pair of controllers are connected via a radio channel, when the buttons on one controller are manipulated, the red and green indicators should be ON state on the adjacent controller.
